The PR industry is made up of more than 75% women, yet just 20% occupy the top jobs. So, how can we achieve better and quicker progress on empowering and moving more women into leadership positions? Using the results of focus groups and an industry-wide survey conducted by the Institute for Public Relations and KPMG, we’ll explore the drivers behind the male-female leadership gap that’s widely recognized across the business world and in our profession, including work-life fit, unconscious biases, workplace policies and practices. The presentation includes call-to-actions for both men and women, based on research, that can help organizations and practitioners take meaningful steps to improve diversity and inclusion. Personal stories from the experiences of industry executives and professionals will be shared.
